Anthony Mabe
Programme Support Officer
Anthony Mabe is a South Sudanese humanitarian and community development practitioner with over seven years of experience working with refugee and host communities across Uganda and South Sudan. He began his career as a school teacher and community development worker (CDW), and has progressed through field and programme roles at Community Development Centre (CDC).
As Programme Support Officer, Anthony supports the coordination and day-to-day implementation of CDC’s programmes. He tracks activity progress, organises programme information, coordinates reporting and facilitates communication between field teams and support functions, including monitoring and evaluation, finance, logistics and administration. By strengthening coordination and information flow, he helps keep activities organised, challenges identified early and agreed plans on track, so that organisational priorities become community-level action.
His expertise covers peacebuilding, conflict sensitivity and context analysis, youth empowerment, gender equality, livelihoods, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and monitoring and evaluation. He has supported cross-border peacebuilding initiatives, community dialogues and youth development programmes, and is a skilled facilitator in Community-Centred Media (CCM). His contribution to CDC has been recognised with the Best Employee of the Year award (2021) and the Best Leader of the Year award (2024).
Anthony holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Team University, Kampala, Uganda. He is passionate about good governance, youth leadership, storytelling and documentary production, and about amplifying the voices of underserved communities. In his free time he enjoys podcasts, documentaries, films, music, reading, travel, history and culture. He is also a lifelong Manchester United fan, which he says has taught him patience, resilience and how to stay hopeful when the odds are against you.
Anthony is committed to locally led development, community resilience and peaceful, inclusive communities.
