Any revisions will be published on this page, together with an updated “Last Updated” date. Changes will take effect upon publication unless otherwise stated or required by applicable law.
Users are encouraged to review this page periodically. Where a change materially affects users’ rights or obligations, CDC will take reasonable steps to provide notice where appropriate.
Continued use of the Website after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This licence does not automatically authorise CDC to publish confidential information, sensitive personal data, or identifiable photographs and stories where additional consent or safeguarding measures are required.
Where material is submitted only for a private enquiry or administrative purpose, this section does not grant CDC unrestricted permission to publish it.
CDC may review, moderate, decline, edit, or remove submitted material where appropriate. We will seek to respect the original meaning of personal testimonies and community stories and will take reasonable steps to protect the dignity, privacy, and safety of people featured in our communications.
6. Privacy and Personal Data Protection

CDC will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.
CDC does not sell personal information to third parties. Information may be shared with authorised service providers, relevant partners, or public authorities where necessary for a legitimate purpose and permitted or required by law, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to request access to their personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Requests concerning personal information may be submitted through CDC’s verified contact channels. Some information may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate organisational recordkeeping.
Please refer to CDC’s Privacy Policy for further details about data collection, use, retention, sharing, and individual rights.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, the Website’s original content is owned by CDC or used under an applicable licence or permission.
This may include:
- CDC’s name, logo, and visual identity.
- Website text, graphics, and design elements.
- Original reports, publications, toolkits, and educational materials.
- Photographs, videos, audio recordings, and other multimedia content.

Third-party content, partner materials, research, photographs, logos, and other works remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

Unless a specific licence or notice states otherwise, users may access and download publicly available CDC materials for personal, educational, academic, research, and other lawful non-commercial purposes, provided that they:
- Acknowledge CDC and the original author where identified.
- Preserve relevant copyright notices and attribution.
- Do not misrepresent the source or meaning of the material.
- Respect any additional restrictions attached to the resource.
Restricted Use
Without prior written permission from the relevant rights holder, users must not:
- Sell or commercially exploit CDC materials where such use is not otherwise authorised.
- Reproduce or republish protected material beyond the scope of a permitted licence or applicable legal exception.
- Alter material in a way that misrepresents its meaning, findings, or authorship.
- Use CDC’s name, logo, or branding to falsely imply endorsement, affiliation, or official partnership.
- Remove copyright notices or misrepresent another person’s work as their own.
Requests for permission to reproduce, adapt, translate, publish, or commercially use CDC materials may be submitted through CDC’s official contact channels.
8. Third-Party Websites, Services, and Payment Platforms
The Website may contain links to external websites, partner platforms, social media services, online registration systems, payment gateways, and other third-party services.
These links are provided for convenience or informational purposes. Unless expressly stated otherwise, CDC does not own or control those external services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security practices, terms, or privacy policies.
Access to third-party websites and services is subject to their own terms and conditions.
Where the Website links to a donation or payment provider, the transaction may be processed under that provider’s terms, privacy notice, and security procedures. Users should verify the recipient, payment details, and transaction information before making a payment.
The presence of a third-party link does not automatically constitute an endorsement or guarantee by CDC.
10. Website Security and Access Restrictions
CDC takes reasonable steps to maintain the security and integrity of its Website. However, no website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for using appropriate security measures when accessing the Website, including keeping their devices and software reasonably up to date.
CDC may temporarily restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the Website, investigate suspected misuse, comply with legal obligations, or respond to security risks.
Where appropriate and legally permissible, CDC may take steps to restore access once the relevant issue has been addressed.
11. Donations and Financial Contributions
Information on the Website about donations, fundraising, and programme support is provided to help individuals and institutions understand ways to support CDC’s work.
A donation or financial contribution may be subject to separate payment-provider terms, written agreements, donor conditions, and applicable laws.
Before making a contribution, donors should verify that they are using CDC’s official donation channels and authorised payment details.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Contributions will be managed in accordance with CDC’s applicable financial procedures and legal obligations.
- Contributions designated for a specific purpose will be handled in accordance with the agreed terms and any applicable restrictions.
- CDC may contact donors regarding administrative matters associated with their contributions.
- Donation acknowledgements, receipts, and reporting arrangements will be subject to applicable procedures and requirements.
The Website does not guarantee that a particular programme, project, or fundraising initiative will remain available indefinitely. If circumstances materially affect the use of a restricted contribution, CDC will address the matter in accordance with the relevant agreement, donor conditions, and applicable law.
Tax deductibility, where relevant, depends on the applicable legal framework and the donor’s circumstances. Users should seek independent tax advice where necessary.
12. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
CDC seeks to provide useful and accurate information but does not warrant that all Website content will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, or free from errors.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CDC will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from a user’s reliance on general Website information or temporary unavailability of the Website.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Users are responsible for assessing whether information is suitable for their intended purpose and should seek professional advice where required.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Sudan, subject to any mandatory legal requirements that apply to CDC’s operations in Uganda.
Where a dispute arises in connection with these Terms or the use of the Website, the parties are encouraged to seek resolution through good-faith communication and, where appropriate, mediation or another mutually agreed dispute-resolution process.
If the matter cannot be resolved amicably, it may be referred to a competent court or other authorised forum in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in this section prevents a person from exercising a statutory right or seeking urgent legal relief where available.
